Highlights 2023

Adapting, innovating and expanding

Highlights 2023

Agility and learning

Businesses everywhere have been facing a growing number of challenges lately. COVID-19 and international conflicts have added further uncertainty and instability. Rising energy prices, scarcity of raw materials, difficulties with supply chains, and a lack of skilled labor are all taking their toll on business. At Hager, we have put a strong focus on operational resilience to ensure we can fulfill customer expectations at all times and are ready for any future challenges. This includes fine-tuning our HR strategy, investing in renewable energy sources or increasing our stock capacities or perfecting home office practices.

Accelerating digital transformation

March 2022 saw the kick-off of a major IT operation: Over 300 participants were invited to start preparing the switchover from our existing SAP systems to S4/HANA, an enterprise resource planning system. HANA stands for High-performance Analytical Appliance, and in August last year, it was rolled out simultaneously—and successfully—in all 50 Hager Group subsidiaries. The new system supports our backend operations and greatly benefits customers through more reliable data management.

Investing in the future

  • Bierun, one of our sites in Poland, was opened in time to celebrate 30 years of engagement in the country. This €50m investment is built to a high environmental sustainability standard, allowing us to increase our circuit breaker production and expand our product portfolio.
  • Bischwiller invested €15m in acquiring 30 new injection molding machines in France.
  • In our German headquarters in Blieskastel, we mainly produce casings, meter boards, and distribution boards. We added an extra 1,300 m2 production floor to the injection molding area.

Acquisitions

In 2023, we successfully pursued our growth strategy. Amongst others, we welcomed Pmflex and Eficia.

About PM Flex

Pmflex is a leading manufacturer of electrical installation conduits based in northern Italy. This company of 150 people last achieved a low triple-digit million Euro turnover and sells its products in over 50 countries. The acquisition elevates Hager Group to a leading European manufacturer of empty and pre-wired electrical conduits.

About Eficia

Eficia is an innovative French company specialising in energy management via remote control services for commercial buildings. A pioneer in the energy transition market, it is the first company to have developed global and fully integrated solutions and services capable of optimising building energy systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting equipment in real time thanks to intelligent algorithms. A team of energy specialists are available 24/7 to advise and optimise customers’ energy consumption and comfort. This acquisition turbocharges our ambition for commercial buildings

Hager Group will remain an active strategic investor to be fully in line with our company strategy P2030.
