Connecting urban spaces, sustaining the future

Advancing urban sustainability through intelligent energy management solutions.

The world by 2030: more hyper-connected people living in hotter cities

Global temperatures are projected to rise significantly compared to pre-industrial levels by 2030. The world's population is expected to reach 8.6 billion by 2030, with two-thirds residing in urban areas. Global energy consumption is projected to increase by 1.7% annually. The impact of rising temperatures will be particularly pronounced in urban centers, emphasising the increasing importance of urban planning. Larger cities will experience more substantial temperature increases.

Also, by 2030, the number of devices connected to the internet will have reached 125 billion. Considerations of energy affordability, security, and sustainability influence the strategies of companies and communities worldwide. The transition towards renewable energy sources and the necessity for efficient energy management underscores our strategic focus.

The global market for renewable energy is anticipated to expand significantly, driven by government policies and technological advancements. Our steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability and energy transition positions us favorably to navigate these emerging trends effectively.

At Hager Group, in support of the execution of P2030, strategic enablers have been identified:

Organisational resilience

We have collectively drawn lessons from recent crises and have expanded on existing initiatives related to people, culture, profitability, and operating models. With this in mind, we have introduced a new strategic stream that integrates these core elements.

Digitalisation

Digitalisation continues to underpin our approach to designing customer relationships, developing products and solutions, and driving internal transformation regarding productivity and cost improvements. As we accelerate our digital efforts, we must create business value.
